Promise Technology's VTrak A-Class and NAS G1100 storage solutions qualified for use Wwith Adobe Anywhere

Promise Technology Inc, a storage company from Taiwan, has announced that its VTrak A-Class series of storage solutions has been qualified for use with Adobe Anywhere.

Adobe Anywhere is a collaborative workflow platform that empowers users of Adobe's professional video solutions to work together, using centralised media across standard networks.

With the announcement, Adobe Anywhere can be connected to the VTrak A-Class Shared SAN Storage Appliance, which offers a high bandwidth and low latency file system, the VTrakFS, giving users complete control and security over their stored media.

With Adobe Anywhere and PROMISE's VTrak A-Class, users can share video files in real-time using Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe Prelude CC from anywhere around the world, just as if the files were stored locally.

This makes it the ideal, high-performance solution for workflows that require high-bandwidth, rich media applications.

"Promise is excited to have the VTrak A-Class qualified for Adobe Anywhere," said James Lee, CEO, Promise Technology.

"Adobe continually provides their customers with tools and services that help create groundbreaking digital content and deploy it across media and devices to achieve greater success, and we are proud to have supported Adobe applications from the very start."

"Our customers want to focus on their creativity, and not worry about having enough -- or the right kind -- of storage," said Sue Skidmore, head of partner relations at Adobe.

"They simply want it to work, and that is what Promise offers, along with control and security. Adobe Anywhere enables teams to work together no matter their location. Coupled with PROMISE, our customers have a robust, collaborative solution."

The VTrak A-Class delivers high-performance file sharing for nearly all aspects of media and entertainment, including video, film and broadcast, at a fraction of the cost of its competitors. While reducing the complexities of a SAN configuration to a single unit, the VTrak A-Class includes unified managed software that makes having separate metadata software and separate RAID software unnecessary.

This makes it a low cost of entry solution, which allows users to "pay as you grow." Requiring zero server hardware, the solution also allows for high-performance collaborative editing right out of the box using Promise's high-performance, low latency file system, VTrakFS. The VTrak A-Class enables multiple clients running Windows, Mac OS X or Linux to access a shared SAN file system over Fibre Channel.

Additionally, the VTrak A-Class allows storage capacity to "scale-out" to over 9 petabytes (with 6TB drives), all while remaining online and eliminating downtime.

The VTrak G1100 NAS Gateway provides 10Gb Ethernet access to the VTrak A-Class shared storage appliance, allowing multiple users the ability to simultaneously edit video for post-production and broadcasting. The VTrak G1100 NAS Gateway is a 1U file server with 8Gb FC front end and 10GbE dual port back end connectivity that provides simplicity by utilising the same single storage management software as the VTrak A-Class.

Promise's VTrakFS file system is optimised for leveraging a quad 8Gb FC interface for large file data ingesting, streaming and processing between a SAN and its clients. Each VTrakFS consists of a metadata LUN (MDL) and data LUNs (DL) for higher bandwidth performance and lower latency data transfers, making it the supersized file system that is required for Media & Entertainment, HPC applications and other video-centric environments.
